RESEARCH STUDY

A scientific research study on art therapy was developed by Dr. Janis Timm-Bottos, PhD, ATR-BC, ATPQ,PT, Professor at Concordia University, Dr. Giuseppe Mazza, MD and Carmen Oprea, MA, ATR-BC, RCAT, ATPQ.

This research will be carried out with the participation of volunteers and uses an adaptation of the phenomenological art therapy intervention for depression (Blomdhal, 2018), containing 12 art therapy workshops of 1h30. A battery of questionnaires will be given to each participant before and after the intervention of 12 art therapy sessions. These questionnaires are confidential and will be collected by the Concordia University research team.

The Art-Prescription is the first in Canada that is supported by a scientific research study which has been approved by Concordia University the Ethics and Scientific Committee.
